Peter Dufau, President, CLT, CWM
Pete’s involvement in horticulture began at an early age. He grew up on an Oxnard, California row crop and orchard farm. Since 1972 he has been intimately involved with the care of living plants and trees.
He graduated Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Horticulture with a concentration in the Landscape industry and founded Dufau Landscape in 1990 as a landscape maintenance service provider after a two-year stint at Valleycrest. Since its inception, Dufau Landscape has consistently won awards while landscaping schools and colleges in every major city in Ventura County.

Butch Schiellack, Accounting
Specializing in construction finances and serving as President of the Ventura County Contractors Association, Butch brings over 25 Years of accounting experience specific to construction and services industries. He is a Graduate of the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business where he also played offensive line for their football team. His younger years were spent on the Marshall Islands.
Christopher Oliva, Soil Fertility & IPM Advisor
Chris has over 30 years of field experience dealing with the challenges of Soil Salinity, fertility and the correlation of nutrient availability to integrated peat management. He has been a practicing PCA and works on several different crops including citrus, avocados, vegetable crops and strawberries. He has worked for Joseph Powers and in production at a produce company. Christopher has a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop Science, Cal Poly SLO. He also has taken courses in Sales and Financial Analysis at Purdue University. He is president of the Nisei Golf Club in Oxnard.
Dolores Ochoa, Estimating/Customer Service
Continuing a 40-year-long, multi generation working relationship with the Dufau family that includes the company owner’s father, her husband and son, Dolores has been with the company since 1998. She lived on the ranch where the Landscape company began and husband, Javier, taught Pete to speak Spanish and all about irrigation when he was but 10-years old. Dolores manages estimating, client relations and some human resources. She is active with Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Oxnard, has been involved in politics and debutantes.
Michael S. Martin, Legal Counsel
Mr. Martin earned his B.A. from Abilene Christian University in 1991 and his M.Div. from Princeton Seminary in 1994. He is fluent in Portuguese which he learned while he and his wife worked in Brazil with a non-profit organization. He earned his law degree from Ventura College of Law and is a member of the California State Bar and the Ventura County Bar Association. Mr. Martin is active in the construction industry and currently sits on the State Board of Directors as the Director of Legislation for the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA). He is also a Board Member for LandPac—the political actions committee for the CLCA, and a member of the Ventura County Contractors Association.
